We are recruiting a software developer to work on our sports betting entertainment platform. The ideal candidate will be experienced in developing secure, scalable and high performing software built on a Web 2.0 LAMP stack.

Our live trading systems are mission critical and operate on all major sports worldwide. This role would suit an experienced, hands-on and results driven developer who has a passion for open-sourced technologies.
This is an exciting, challenging and ultimately rewarding opportunity for the right individual to join a very experienced team of developers working on a PHP code base in continuous development for 10 years.
Role
Front end:
- Developing the range of sports and our Zoneplay product built on PHP, AJAX, Jquery, HTML and CSS.
Back end:
- Developing our back end trading system, reporting systems and API framework for 3rd party integration.
Essential:
- Strong LAMP experience (PHP5+/MySQL5+)
- Strong understanding of OOP
- Design patterns
- Frameworks such as Zend, Symphony, Codeigniter etc
- HTML/CSS/XML
- Javascript, jQuery, AJAX
- Unit testing
Desirable:
- Knowledge of building HA and scalable systems

37.5 hours per week over five days, as well as on call work which is rotated between members of the development team and IT operations.

BuzzSports are developing a number of innovative products, operating across a wide and ever expanding range of live sporting events.
We are looking for suitable candidates, ideally with some working experience in the bookmaking industry, to trade our weekly range of ‘Zone Play’ events.
Working hours will be dependent on the sporting calendar but will involve evening, weekend & bank holiday work.
You Will Be:
- Trading ‘ZonePlay’ events, using judgement, knowledge and experience to ensure our prices are appropriate at all times.
- Monitoring incoming bets and managing market liability responsibly to achieve profitable growth.
- Playing an active role in New Product Development.
- Organised to complete daily roles, taking individual responsibility for them.
- Totally reliable, available and willing to take on new tasks within a small team.
- Capable to react quickly to changing situations and to think outside the box.
- Flexible to work unsociable hours when required, sometimes at short notice.
- Enthused by working in a high-tech, fast-paced environment.
These permanent, full-time positions will report directly to the Head Bookmaker and will be subject to the satisfactory completion of an initial 6 month probationary period. On offer for the right people is an excellent basic salary and benefits package.
